In 2011, a beautiful tradition began at the Northwest String Summit. It all started with Lilli Trippe, a little girl who loved music, dancing, and Yonder Mountain String Band. For most of her short life, Lilli fiercely battled childhood cancer. In July of 2011, Lilli passed away just a few days before her 4th birthday. Since then, every year on String Summit Sunday we honor our little friend Lilli by hosting a head shave while the rest of the crowd gets “Frilli for Lilli” by dressing up in their best Sunday Pink. This year, The Lilli Trippe Memorial Shave is proud to support Chelsea’s Closet. So please join us as John Christensen and River Band shave their heads to support Chelsea’s Closet and to bring awareness to this awful disease. Help them reach their goal by donating directly, by coming out to the NWSS, and by dancing your tutu off. We promise, Lilli is right there, dancing with you.

Supporting Chelsea Hicks Foundation, Helping kids dance like princesses and fly like superheros!

Since 2011, the Trippe family, with the incredible support of friends, donors, businesses, and musicians has raised over $100,000 to support research and therapies for children’s cancer. This year, we are proud to support the Chelsea Hicks Foundation and their amazing program, Chelsea’s Closet. Please take a moment to read all about Chelsea’s Closet in the featured content, learn about Lilli, and then click the donate button to support the LT Memorial Shave and the Chelsea Hicks Foundation.
